I returned to my birth name, Sharon, in 2007. However, because of a promise I'd made, I couldn't use my family of origin's name. So I chose the name "Poet" because my mother had called me the "Little Poet" when I was a child. My middle name, "Rose" also comes from my mother. Sharon Rose Poet is now my legal name.
